Poetry In Oceans
Apples On The Greenest Hill
Underneath the apples, the orchards in my mind - we page through our photos, the album and its binds. We're warmer, reaching for the sun like branches on the tree, that we are sitting underneath. Two shooting stars, flying at blinding speeds, that cross over our hearts and I hope we'll never die. Our chests act as a sheath, to our hearts that strain to beat. And yet it seems like just one moment, the time my eyes were wide - likens to my blinking, that 'forever' would be tied. As the day falls in our laps, there's a momentary lapse - we forget about the time, yet the time will surely pass. Though the world just seems to stop, it just can't stop spinning. The moving clouds remind me of this scientific fact, even though we sit back and imagine - bunnies and cotton candy. We're losing ourselves fast, and I think I see it now. When you trip in love like this, be wary of the bow.
I remember losing her to the grass beneath that tree.

The Stars In Your Eyes, Guide Me Home
You hoped I'd get home, in time to catch you leave. It'd been so long since we feared the "so long"s, and now you can't wait to say it. I admit, it's been getting easier to leave each day, each day that passed. But I still don't want to know it's over. I still don't want the tears to set. I apologize, for the smile behind my eyes - time just made me forget, to wear it on my face. Come on, let's just try to cuddle. Let's attempt to remember the ways, the ways we learned to love each other. I'll whisper a sweet-nothing, for every breath I count. Let me tell you the things I've kept bottled up inside. I really do think about you. I really do love your cooking. I really do dog-ear every page 143, in every book that I read. And when you're right next to me, as close as you are - I miss you the most.
I hope I got home, in time to catch you stay.
